Proverbs 20:9 — “Who can say, “I have cleansed my heart I am pure from my sin.”? Not I!! But I can say, “Jesus cleansed my heart!”
Proverbs 21:17 — “He who loves pleasure will become a poor man” (def. spiritually poor) — 2 Timothy 3:4 — “… (in the end days there will be) lovers of [...]

How lovely
When once I did not know Him, I cried and confessed myself to be lonely.
Now when I am tired, I cry on His shoulder, confessing my need for Him: more and more and more of Him. Come Lord Jesus
The Israelites cry out. God tells them:
Don’t you even remember? Don’t you remember what I did in the beginning?
How [...]

God does love us
There is this song on the radio, and it repeats over and over again “He loves me just the way I am” — It is quite annoying.
“God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Amen! But He isn’t satisfied with us as we are. He hates [...]

What’s new under the sun?
Whenever I get comfortable, He always reminds me of the following:
“Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.
“Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied.
“Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.
“Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and [...]

Heavy
Lately God’s been bringing everything just “together” for me. After almost 6 months of simply loving and living with Jesus, the desires of my heart are seeing fulfillment.
I read this verse (Psalms 20:4) last night:
May he grant you your heart’s desire
and fulfill all your plans!
The desires of my heart better not get in the way of the [...]

See what is in man
“But Jesus on his part did not entrust himself to them, because he knew all people and needed no one to bear witness about man, for he himself knew what was in man.“1
God’s been allowing some painful “knowing” to pass my way. I think it has to do with being a ‘man’ now… where once [...]

Unworthy of consolation
I am praising God today!
Jesus says (in Luke 17:7–10):
“Will any one of you who has a servant plowing or keeping sheep say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and recline at table’? Will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare supper for me, and dress properly, and serve me [...]

My Father’s (singular & unified) will.
Some teach that my Father has both a moral and a sovereign will. Meaning, “he sentimentally doesn’t want any to perish, but he only actively works to save a few.”
Low and behold, a passage came across me that (once again) had me asking “why haven’t I seen that before?”
See that you do not despise one [...]

Your Spiritual House
We are all familiar with the parable of Jesus:
“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you? Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the [...]
